What is the Moreau POTS Protocol?
The Moreau POTS Protocol is a remarkable breakthrough in recovery, shaped by Dr. Bill Moreau’s research and clinical wisdom. Rooted in exercise-based interventions for concussion-related challenges, this protocol embodies a personalized approach to patients’ well-being.
A Tailored Path to Wellness
The Moreau POTS Protocol caters to each patient’s unique needs. Its strategies alleviate symptoms linked to post-concussion syndrome, dysautonomia, and neurogenic POTS. The protocol’s hallmark is its individualization, ensuring your recovery aligns with your specific condition and goals.
Supervised Precision
At the heart of the Moreau POTS Protocol is commitment to precision and safety. Our adept professionals supervise every exercise, ensuring you engage in low-intensity exercises that not only retrain neurological function but also eye function, a pivotal facet often overlooked.
Your Protocol Experience
The Moreau POTS Protocol begins with an intake visit to evaluate your unique needs. This initial visit lasts two to three hours. If you are accepted into the protocol, subsequent treatment appointments will last approximately one hour. We refine the protocol according to your progress, all while maintaining unwavering focus on your well-being.
Empower Your Recovery
The Moreau POTS Protocol isn’t just a treatment; it’s a transformative journey to better health. Driven by empirical research and clinical expertise, the protocol is designed to elevate your recovery.
What will your initial Concussion Clinic visit entail?
Stepping into the Concussion Clinic marks the beginning of your journey to recovery. Our commitment to your well-being is reflected in the thoroughness of our approach. During your initial office visit, expect a comprehensive experience that includes:
Thorough History and Physical Examination
Our priority is to understand your unique medical history and current condition. We talk with you in depth to gather information about your health. This forms the foundation of your personalized care plan.
Comprehensive Neurological Evaluation
A neurological evaluation is a pivotal aspect of your visit. Our team employs advanced techniques to assess various brain functions, enabling us to gain a thorough understanding of your condition.
Holistic Assessment
Our evaluation also includes visual functionality tests; memory assessments; and analyses related to conditions such as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), dysautonomia, and post-concussion syndrome. This approach ensures no aspect of your condition goes unnoticed, enabling us to tailor your care effectively.
At the Concussion Clinic, our goal is to unravel the complexities of your condition and craft a path to recovery. Your visit is more than a medical appointment; it’s a collaborative journey to holistic well-being. Trust us to guide you every step of the way.
What will your Concussion Care plan look like?
Frequency of Visits
Our approach involves an initial frequency of three visits per week for four to six weeks. After that, we reevalutate your needs and work with you to plan your next steps. Around the six-week mark, we categorize patients as “responders” or “nonresponders.”
Responders exhibit progress and thus benefit from continuing with the Moreau POTS Protocol. If you are a responder, we will personalize the frequency of your continued care, considering your availability, travel distance, and health status. Telemedicine is an option for patients who otherwise would travel long distances to the clinic.
Should you fall into the category of nonresponders, rest assured we have your best interests at heart. We will refer you to appropriate providers with the expertise to address your needs.
Duration of Care
The precise duration of care can be challenging to predict. Conditions such as concussion, dysautonomia, and POTS exhibit varying healing times due to the unique aspects of each patient’s condition. In general, your course of care may extend over several months.
At the UWS Concussion Clinic, our team is dedicated to supporting you with a focus on your progress, comfort, and recovery. We empower you with knowledge and guide you to a healthier future. Your well-being is our commitment.
